Creeps

Creeps

are AI controlled units that spawn in lanes and in the jungle around the map. Neutral and Lane Creeps when killed, grant the player gold and experience. Creeps have a variety of unique combat attributes, rewards, and spawning patterns. Certain heroes, such as Chen, and items, such as Helm of the Dominator, can take control of creeps for a specified amount of time.

Types of Creeps

Lane Creeps

spawn in continuous waves every 30 seconds behind the Dire and Radiant Barracks.  There are 3 lanes, where Lane Creeps fight enemy creeps, heroes, and towers. Demolishing the enemy Barracks turns your own creeps into Mega Lane Creeps, which have more HP, Damage, and Armor.  In addition, Mega creeps give much less experience and gold to enemies. If all Melee and Ranged Barracks of each lane are destroyed, Mega Creeps are made into even stronger Upgraded Mega Creeps.
Siege Creeps are mechanical creep units with more health, spawn every 7 waves, and deal more damage to Towers.  They also never change upon death of the Barracks, and cannot be converted with items or abiltiies.

Neutral Creeps

spawn around the map in jungle creep camps every minute after regular creeps span as long as their camp is unblocked. There are various types of netural creeps, Small, Medium, Large, and Ancient creeps. Radiant and Dire sides each have 1 Small, 2 Medium, 2 Large, and 1 Ancient creep camps. Each creep gives added gold and experience bonus to heroes.  As a result, the role of jungler consists of efficiently farming these netural creeps to help the team.
Certain Neutral creeps have unique abilities which can be used by either team. Heroes and items can take control of netural creeps under certain conditions, and with micro, help teams gank and push. Roshan is considered a neutral creep but cannot be controlled.

Roshan

Roshan is a special neutral creep that can generally overpower any player controlled hero in individual combat. Roshan gives a large experience and gold bonus as well as an Aegis of the Immortal when he is killed. The Aegis brings the bearer back to life with full HP and Mana in the location the bearer dies. Roshan's spawn cannot be blocked by wards. The spawn timer of Roshan is 10 minutes after he is killled. Roshan will drop an Aegis of the Immortal and Cheese on his third spawn and every spawn after. Roshan will reclaim the Aegis after 6 minutes as of patch 6.75. Hero teams can go for a risky early Roshan kill to get a large advantage. However, while Roshan has all the same abiltiies throughout the game, every 5 minutes until 45 in-game mintues Roshan gains stat bonuses. He receives +500 HP, +10 base attack damage and +0.50 armor per 5 minute interval.
